While audio-visual viewing trends may change, what doesn’t change is the ability to tell a story. Our experience in crafting and guiding story has shaped many SA success stories and we want to keep on making more - some that we create directly, and others where our expertise can help shape original ideas and make them great.

Our primary goal is to create entertaining content that people want to see, made by African film makers. Our secondary goal is to uplift and enlighten whilst entertaining. Our world is in a state of transition. It is with the help of stories – film and television - that we can help people open their minds to new realities. We want to unlock the potential of Africa and African writers by creating stories that will not only support and guide us as we navigate our rapidly changing times, but will bring the spirit of Africa to the rest of the world - one story at a time.

Both have worked in multiple aspects of film and television production but they are primarily writers and content creators at heart.

Julie Hall

Julie Hall is a screenwriter, story consultant, lecturer, creative producer and voice-over artist. Julie has worked extensively in television as a writer, storyliner, script editor and head writer. She currently sits on the board of the NFVF Council and is actively involved in the film and television industry working on local and international productions.

Harriet Meier

With two motion picture scripts produced and 3 TV series sold internationally, Harriet rides a thin line between being creative and a Business Woman. Harriet's extensive experience in the South African television industry is what drives her to develop and create stories with emerging writers.

Verona Duwarkah, Business Consultant

Verona is one of the most experienced media professionals in South Africa. She has held various senior positions including Group Executive of SABC Television as well as CEO of Urban Brew Studios.

Lionel Marumahoko, Non Executive Board Member

Seasoned corporate leader and marketer with 30-years' experience in managerial positions for The Coca-Cola Company across Africa. National Film and Video Foundation Script Writers: Refining Your Screenplay

Working with an experienced script editor is one of the benefits of receiving a script development grant from the NFVF. For more than a decade Julie Hall has been a trusted script editor at the National Film and Video foundation and continues to mentor through the script development process for local movies and productions every year.

Our Wild Words associated script writers and editors are experts in their craft and have worked on some of the most successful productions in the country. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every project they work on.
